SteemWales - time for another steem meetup in Wales?
Saturday 10 February 2018 was a great day for steem in Wales.
It was the day of the first SteemWales meetup.
Almost six months on it must be surely be time for another!
The big question is how many steemians are still active in Wales?
Back last November when I started planning the meetup, with the help of @stephenkendal, I tracked down over 60 Wales based steem accounts.
Only about 15 or so were active at the time, but out of those there was enough interest to go forward with the meetup.
In the end we had 10 people at the meetup. A modest number but enough to generate enthusiasm and hope for the future of steem in Wales.
By the time of the meetup some active recruitment and the rise of the steem price had helped the number of active steemians in Wales grow to 35 :
Since then though steem activity in Wales seems to have been on the decline. Clicking through the accounts on the list shows way too many have gone dormant.
I am sure others in Wales have joined to replace them.
We need to get steem steeming again in Wales.
Who is still out there?
Anyone up for another meetup?
We need to rally the steemtroopers of Wales.

Good luck with the 2nd meet-up. Had one in the midlands a while ago and it went quite well. The numbers were similar to yours but the buzz from being around other steemians was brilliant. Can't wait to do it all again.
Alas the responses and enthusiasm in Wales are not flooding in as yet...
But, as you say, the buzz of meeting other steemians is definitely worth it.
It will catch on eventually, the hardest part is working out how to "sell" steemit to new users. When you work that one out, please let me know how, lol. If you go to the #steemcampuk it will take you to the meet-up we had and you may be able to get a few ideas from there.
Not to be confused with Steemwhales, although I hope that one day there are Steemwhales in Wales!

I think the first Whale in Wales may be some time away.
But who knows, someone might dig up some gold again out of the Welsh mountains...

Hi Chris, no I don't think so. Tried to encourage a few to join up, but they think its too much like hard work!
It is very hard work that is for sure.
And trying to keep people going that you've recruited is even harder...

Hi @pennsif - I'm sure you are ahead of me but just in case do you use Ginabot in discord with various search terms around the phrase Wales or other appropriate words....

I had accumulated a bunch of profiles to check from this route. Not looked at it for a few weeks and sadly when I went to look at them yesterday, all but one had gone quiet and not posted for a month ...
