Who said that blockchain technology has to be serious all the time?
A couple of days ago @roelandp - top 5 witness and organizer of the legendary @steemfest - posted a picture of a whale in a Dutch harbour to the SMT Telegram chat. He added:
Currently hooking on this thing on Steem chain. No kidding.
Honestly, I had no idea what he was talking about. Just thought it must have been some Dutch humor...
Now I finally know what he was talking about! In fact it was no joke to onboard that mammal to our steemy chain.
We can now use our Steem tokens to make a whale squirt on command that is located in the Netherlands from whatever place in the world.
You have still no idea what I'm talking about?

I'm not sure when I laughed to tears in front of my computer for the last time.
Today I did.
@roelandp sent me a link to a website called SteemWhale.io, and what I found there was absolutely hilarious!
You can go to the website, make a small donation of Steem to the account @whalefountain and then watch the whale spray water live via webcam.
It may all sound too weird, so I recommend to watch Roeland's video explanation:
What a funny way of demonstrating the Steem blockchain's efficiency!
Every 3 seconds a new block is being produced on the Steem blockchain, and if there wasn't a 20-seconds-delay in the livestreaming you'd be able to watch your fountain after exactly that time.
I really love these type of gimmicks since they're able to create a lot of attention around Steem.
TNW - thenextweb.com - has already picked up the funny whale fountain and launched an article about it: You can now make a fake Dutch whale squirt over blockchain!
