Let's discuss "air conditioner" & it's cooling cycle

As I was going through an article written by meg Murphy of MIT concerning the reason why a car cannot run on water. At that same time I started imaging on other home appliances that seem complicated to me on how it works. Pointing out at this home appliance termed air conditioner which makes use of fan to distribute air in a given portion.

When comparing this system with standing fan (which also distribute air in a room). You find out that sometimes the air coming out from standing fan can be hot during hot weather.

But air conditioner maintains a constant temperature at a particular point which depend on its set up. This air conditioner has a cold surface which helps to cool and dehumidify the air. It also consists of the warm surface and a source of water vapor.

Normally the usual method on how this system works is through injecting steam from electrically boiled water. And during this period humidification has not been added to it.

Recently air conditioner are now built in such a way that it now contains chlorofluorocarbon compound which is the cooling fluid. This compound has a low boiling point which enables it's stability without fading in its pipes.

This fluid when added into the cooling unit evaporates by absorbing heat from the air.
air condition system has a thermostats which determine the total amount of fluid in the cooling coil. The temperature of this system are made limited in other not to cause clogging of the ice. This is done using a system that holds a melting pause when ice has been formed.

Coming to the side of pressure. A component term "pressure controller" makes the cooling fluid to boil at its lowest temperature which is enough to maintain it's humidity.

This pressure are now gathered together by a compressor. This gathering of pressure now leads us to how energy can be transferred In this system.

Take for instance, a closed system that is maintained at a particular temperature (a standard temperature of it's operation). It is certain that the rate at which energy are dissipated are increased.

Therefore an amount of energy input into the system is equivalent to the amount of energy removed from the system. This energy differences leads to an increase in power consumption of this air conditioner.

Bringing our mind back to what we said earlier about chlorofluorocarbons. This chemical is made up of R22 and R410A. It helps to change from liquid to gaseous state very easily and these transition phase is what that makes chlorofluorocarbon a useful refrigerants.

A common of this is when a liquid is heated to a point that it starts to evaporate to its vapor form.

At this point understanding the major principle governing this air conditioner will now be more easier to comprehend since we have touched a little part that seem more complicated.

According to Hourahan

An air conditioner system essentially has four parts:an evaporator,a compressor, a condenser and an expansion device.source

He made a detailed explanation by saying that the part where the refrigerants evaporates is called evaporator.

He also said that

As air from the house moves across the evaporator. Refrigerants within the coil picks up the temperature of the air.source

This refrigerants which absorbs heat from the air turns from it liquid state to a vapor form.
Then the vapor flows down the compressor located outside the system where a compressor acts on it by increasing the pressure and temperature to it's high level.

At this temperature the hot gas flows down the third component called the condenser where the gas is brought back into it's liquid state thereby radiating away the heat.

Conclusion

Coming to the angle of technology, most times invention of a particular device or equipment is a way of showing that the world is gradually improving.

A lot of this technological equipment has gradually lead to a decline level of human effort towards some setting things.

Air condition which is one of the modern equipment,has added a lot of advantage during summer through cooling and making people feel comfortable even at hot weather.

This system can also be of more useful especially to people living in hot area Thereby bringing more comfort to human existence.
