RE: A: How fast is Tesla S (on a race track)?

I honestly think that what is bad with the electric cars concerns their advertisement... The way the full electric car project is sold in general is very misleading, especially the environement part.

Electric cars can do good things for the planet, of course. But one never hears any word about the necessary electricity production that may polute... There is no free lunch and this should be repeated and repeated. Then, it is up to us (the consumer) to decide what we do, but at least we will make the decision in a fully educated manner. Of course, people should educated themselves... They should... But this is not what is happening in many cases.

PS: we may have already discussed this. Sorry in this case... I remember vaguely having had discussed this topic on Steem with someone, but I have no idea whether this wa you ^^

What I don't like about environmentalists is the hypocrisy.
Cars are bad, ergo let's change the whole idea about a car and start irradiating virtue signals.

We are talking that electric cars have no alternative while we still have:

  • non-synchronized traffic lights
  • traffic lights operated by timers
  • towns not build for efficient transportation
    ...

Fully agreeing on this. The most ecologic car is definitely the one we don't build.

I think (to be checked) that the pollution generated in building a car could even be larger than the pollution the car will generate during its whole lifetime...

True... 2000 kg of anything - will be dirty. A small car, Fiat 500 is 1000 kg lighter, it's a lot of environmental efforts
