A Story and Memory About Mama, and Simple Pasta

Mama, it is an Indonesian word to call a mother.

This picture is an old picture a few years ago, I took it with a phone that is even now broken.

One picture that means many things. About pasta that reminds me of "Mama".

Mama is the simplest, happiest person I've ever known. Mama never felt the need to be someone more, to feel loved. Mama never saturated the modern world. She is an expert at modifying the modern, to be something traditional back so she can enjoy it.

 

This pasta dish is one of the most memorable moments when I was with Mama. Mama never likes cheese, but she always wants to eat my homemade pasta.

I like cheese, but I also want Mama to be able to enjoy my homemade pasta. I looked for ideas to make pasta that Mama could enjoy.

When I found Kaffir Lime Leaves in the kitchen, then I knew what I would do with my Fusilli pasta.

I don't use pasta sauce which is usually used on pasta. I made the pasta dish as simple as possible, with spices familiar to Mama's tongue.

I used chilli sauce, then used the "stir fry" technique on the pasta.

As an ingredient that will perfect the taste of the pasta, I finely chopped Kaffir Lime Leaves and then sprinkled it on the pasta, and cooked until cooked.

 

Pssst, let me tell you a secret. Kaffir Lime Leaves is the secret of an Asian-owned kitchen, especially Indonesian people.

And, this is Pasta Fussili With Kaffir Lime Leaves. It's simple, but Mama says, it's like, a taste of heaven, made from her favorite child. :)

Finally, I just want to say, that I miss Mama, with simple pasta.
