The Fireplace
The fireplace is lit, filled with wood. Crackling and cackling as they burn to their ashes. The fireplace fills with steam as the people sniff the air. What is that smell?
The flames lick the wood, burning it down as the wood call "Crack, crackle, pop". A flame leaps forwards, encouraged by the rest, burns a hole into the carpet.
The people scream and the carpet is pulled back, but it is too late. The fire has spread.
They all woke up at the same time, breathing deeply the smell of smoke. Staring at the fire, they realized what just happened.
