How time flies, Chinedu thought how it was just yesterday he had to go through the break up and taking care of his daughter, it's been eight years, eight long years of being a father and mother to Catherine, eight years of waiting for ITOHAN to walk back through that door and say it was all a lie, and they got back to being a family, eight years he had nurtured as best as he could Catherine, eight years of watching her cry over her mum at first, got sick over her, and now occasionally just remembers her only when other kids mentions mothers... Eight long years of not hearing from ITOHAN or even seeing her, it was like she vanished from the face of the earth...!!!

All his letters came back unopened... She probably changed address…!

Chinedu had tried over the years to start a relationship, but nothing seems to last, he was reminded of the fact that he used pride and self-centered attitude to chase away the love of his life.. If he had the ability to go back, he would change a lot of decisions he made blindly, but it was too late, damn too late… Watching Catherine who was 8 years old, doing her homework, Chinedu couldn't keep the smile off his face, she didn't see him smile, and else he would have a lot of questions to answer...

Catherine was just too intelligent and smart for her age, every day she looked exactly like her mother, a playful happy child who craved independence, Chinedu remembered she'd tell she was going to be a doctor, and Chinedu was going to make that dream happen for his daughter… Luckily he was still working, he went back to school, and became a full-fledged engineer, but his bad luck on gambling still tailed him, and he was obsessed with it...!!

Catherine was coming out tops in all her classes, even her teachers had to put her above her intended class, Chinedu was so proud of her, as he was sent for to receive one award or another because of her academic brilliance.... Chinedu watched his daughter concentrating on finishing her homework so she could run back to play.!!

And he was amazed on how beautiful she looks, Catherine was so beautiful....!!!!!!!!
