Puppy Eyes

in #story6 years ago (edited)

"To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace."
- Milan Kundera -

Here's a story I think you'll identify with.

This is my response to @jayna's 50 word prompt.

There are some things we may have been directly instructed not to do... But, the temptation is just so overwhelming...

Puppy Eyes

Those eyes... How could he say no?

Joel peeked cautiously at Mommy, then Daddy.

Good! They were talking grownup stuff.

Slowly, while putting a spoonful of peas in his mouth, Joel slipped the last piece of meat off his plate and dropped it to the chocolate lab puppy waiting below.

Lol nobody can say no to those eyes

Makes me miss mine!

Ha ha! Evidently you've met my daughter. She is 17 and she still does this. But she doesn't even try to hide it! Chocolate lab puppies have got to be the cutest things in the whole wide world.

Haven't met her yet; but I think my 15 year old granddaughter is probably a good parallel to consider... ;)

Thanks, Jayna. :D

Who can resist those gorgeous eyes, mine are always left a piece of meat from my plate :)

Nice capture of something we all did. And some still do it as puppy eyes are irresistible. 🙂

Yes, some still do, that's for sure! :)

Thanks for your kind comments.

Cute pup! And a lucky dog...!

I remember those days as a child. Grew up with a dog named panda. Once in awhile he would get scraps from the table. Panda was a kind dog but a watchdog do. Indeed dogs know how to give you that look for a little bit of good stuff to eat. Puppy eyes indeed. Thanks I enjoyed it well done @creatr

Thanks, Troy.

Adults get swindled too.... ;)
