Mark Twain and his book "Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn"

in #story6 years ago (edited)

One of Twain's major publication is "Tom Sawyer's Adventures", for which he drew inspiration from his youth in Hannibal. Tom Sawyer is a model of Twain as a child, and features two of his classmates John Briggs and Will Bowen. The book also portrays Huckleberry Finn as a minor character who is a prototype of Twen's friend Tom Blankanship. Although the plot of "The Prince and the Pauper" is nowadays extremely popular in literature and cinema, it is not well received at the time of its publication. This is the story of two boys born on the same day, the same in appearance, becoming a social commentary when the two swap their places. This is Twen's first attempt to create art prose that is not so strongly influenced by his personal experiences, and the guilt of his shortcomings is usually attributed to the fact that the author does not know the English society well, but also to the fact that he comes out after a big masterpiece. Writing this novel, Twen begins with "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" (with which he has constant difficulties) and begins and finishes another journey "Fools Abroad", which follows the author during his journey to central and southern Europe.

Huckleberry Finn (1884) confirmed Mark Twain's place as a significant American writer. Four hundred pages of the manuscript of the novel were written in the middle of 1876, just after the publication of Tom Sawyer. According to some accounts, Twent wrote the novel seven years and ended it in 1883. Others believe that Huckleberry Finn was written in parallel with Prince and the Pauper and other works in the 1880s and following years. The last fifth of the book is the subject of many disputes. According to Leo Marx at that time, Twain was in a "nervous breakdown." In the "Green Hills of Africa" essay, Ernest Hemingway writes about "Huckleberry Finn": "If you read it, you have to stop when nigger Jim is kidnapped by the boys. This is the real end. The rest is a trick. "In the same essay he writes:" All contemporary American literature comes from a book by Mark Twain called "Huckleberry Finn."

Twain's greatest achievement as a writer is the way Huckleberry Finn tells and the language he uses. American researchers have found that Huck's speech is very close to the ordinary, vulgar southern speech of the uneducated population, moreover, in his book, "Was It Huck Black?" (1993) Sheli Fischer Fishchin concludes that Huck speaks of a dialect that is a blend of the White and Black speech from the southern states. Thus, Mark Twain is the first to use the language of the lowest in society to create a literary masterpiece. After him, more and more American writers strive to write as close as possible to the living language. In the period around the completion of Huckleberry Finn, Twain wrote "Life on the Mississippi", which describes the author's memories and new experiences after a 22-year absence from the Mississippi River. It is in this case that he claims that "mark" is the term in which seafarers disclose safe depth.
