The Fishing Festival. Story!!!

This is a story of two great kingfishers called Dinofs and Showofs.

A long, long time ago the kingfishers were known as Dinofs.
This was because they love nothing better than to dine of little fishes.

It was getting to the end of the year and all the bird were busy preparing for the great annual fishing festival.
It was the event that will help them determine which bird was the greatest fisher.
It was fairly agreed among the birds that the contest could be between the Dinof and Showofs, the Eagles. The Eagles were so named because they took so much delight in showing off their quite remarkable fishing skills.
Most of the previous contests had been won by either Dinof or Showofs.
One group bird said that watching Showof fish was simply a delight.

The Eagles used their farsightedness to a great extent. From a very great height, they will spy their prey long before their opponents were aware of them. They could then calculate the distance to the fish as well as the flow of the sea..
With those in mind, Showof will swoop down just once with great mastery and skillfully carry their prey.
Another group contended that although not all Dinofs are fishers eaters, the ones that did fish were masters of the art, especially the dinof that had been representing the other dinofs during the fishing festival. His patient, they said, would give him the day at the forthcoming festival.
While fishing, this dinof would wait patient for a fish to surface. As soon as he spotted one, he would stretch for the dive, taking into consideration the lighting which appears to alter the position of the fish. He would then shoot into the water like a dart to carry off the prey.

This years fishing festival; competition would be the most important. It will determine who the greatest fisher is once and for all time.

As the count down to the fishing competition got closer, the chosen eagle was busy perfecting his skills in preparation. So also was the Dinof that would represent his group; although he was not giving the preparation his best shot.
While the preparing, the Dinof was often distracted. He had just fallen in love with a very beautiful little bird. Nini was the daughter of one the chieftains of the birds. She has the most colourful feathers Dinof has ever seen.

Dinof had been wooing Nini for some weeks now. He had done all he could to demonstrate that he will be a worthy partner. He had shown that he would be a good provider.
From time to time, he had taken the tasty morsels of fish and other titbits to Nini and her family. He had equally performed aerial displays in courtship dance for her entertainment.
He had even built her a house which he felt was a suitable setting for her dazzling beauty. And at great risk, too! In order to demonstrate his nest digging skill, Dinof had built the house in a chamber at the end of a long tunnel which he excavated near the bank of a river.
Dinof recalled how he nearly stunned himself to death while constructing the house. But his effort has been worthwhile. The house was simply magnificent.
he had done all he could to show his love.
All Dinof wants now is for Nini to agree to marry him. Several times Dinof has said to her "I love you Nini. Please say you will marry me." But Nini will simply smile shyly at him before flying away.
"I'm sure she finds me quite attractive," Dinof said to himself. "So why is she not giving in to my proposal?"
