A wonderful document for everyone. You only need about 1 minute to read it and it could change your attitude!

Two men, both seriously ill, lay in a common hospital room. One was allowed to sit in his bed for an hour each day to empty the fluid from his lungs. His bed was right by the window. The other man had to lie flat on his back all day.

The men chatted for hours without end. They talked about their wives, their families, their jobs, what they had done during military service, and where they were on vacation.

Every afternoon, when the man in the bed was allowed to sit by the window, he spent his time describing to the roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed was beginning to live for those one-hour intervals in which his world was expanded and enlivened by processes and colors of the world out there!

The window overlooked a park with a beautiful lake. Ducks and swans were playing on the water and children had their model boats sailed. Young lovers walked arm in arm among the flowers of all colors and a great silhouette of the city was seen in the distance. As the man at the window described all these things in wonderful detail, the man on the other side of the room closed his eyes and imagined the painting.

On a warm afternoon, the man at the window described a parade of a marching band marching past. Although the other man could not hear the chapel, he could really see her - with his mind's eye, as the man at the window described her with such impressive words.
Days and weeks passed. One morning, when the nurse just came to wash the two men, she found the man at the window lifeless-he had died peacefully in his sleep. She was sad and went to fetch the hospital servant to take the dead man away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could now switch to the bed by the window.

The nurse allowed that and as soon as he seemed comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly and painfully, he leaned heavily on his elbow for a first glimpse of the world out there. He struggled and turned to look out of the window next to the bed. Opposite the window was a bare wall. The man called the nurse and asked her what might have moved his roommate to describe such wonderful things outside the window?

The nurse replied that the man was blind and could not even see the wall opposite. She said, "Maybe he wanted to cheer her up." Epilogue: You can feel great happiness in making others happy, even when you're not feeling well yourself. "Shared suffering is half the pain, but shared happiness is doubled!" If you're fine then count all the things you have that you can not buy, every day is a gift, that's why the present is called 'present'.
