Strong Woman (Part 24)

She is a strong woman. It doesn't matter if her body surrendered, the fact that she battled for her life made her strong. That day she died brought about great pain. As we are heading home, we're all silent. My two brothers and sister wasn't there. It's difficult to tell them what had happened.

We reached the funeral parlor where my mother's remains would be embalmed and for the wake. We reached home with some of our relatives already waiting outside the house. I feel so weak that I just want to sit down. After months of taking care of our mother she's already gone.

Went to bed didn't know what to expect. I am exhausted emotionally, mentally, and physically so it wasn't difficult for me to sleep. My younger brother who went home that night from a compulsory field trip was crying hard as relayed by my brother.

Woke up in the morning didn't know what to expect. The pain remained. I am crying but I can't do anything. I saw my sister crying over the window and wiped her eyes.

We heard from my brother who stayed at the funeral parlor that they are waiting for the coffin because nothing fits my mother's body. Feels like living in an upside down. I can't function very well. Me and my family actually cannot function well.

My mother is already lifeless, but through her family life she loved us. She battled the illness up to the end. She is a strong woman.
