111 roses

Spiky on Valentine's day wanted to make a surprise for Pinky. He went to animal's market on the city hall square in Browneartopia and looked for red roses. A donkey was selling a whole bunch of them from his cart.

"Happy Valentine's day, sir! I would like to get 111 red roses", said Spiky.

"Wow! That's a lot", said the donkey. "Your Valentine will be very happy".

"I sure hope so".

"Here you go sir! That will be 100 Steem", said the donkey.

Spiky asked, "Can I pay you with an upvote?"

"Sure, just look up my username, @asinusmurmurationis".

"Yes, I found it. Wow! So many singing videos of you. Are you a singer?"

"No, but I do love to scream".

Spiky upvoted his latest post, took the flowers and went home. Pinky will be so so happy when she'll see 111 roses.

On the way back to his cabin he met some animals. All of them looked sad.

A fox was sad because she couldn't catch enough chicken because they emigrated Browneartopia during this bear market.

Spiky said to her, "Happy Valentine's day! Don't be sad!", and gave her 3 roses.

A wolf was sad because he couldn't sing in tune during weddings while sitting under the table with the dog. The guests found out about him from his untrained howling, beat up and threw away in the cold. Spiky said to him,

"Happy Valentine's day! Don't be sad!", and gave him 3 roses.

An owl was sad because she yelled on the naughty sixth-graders during her accentuation class. The kids secretly filmed this episode with the phone, showed it to their parents and now the owl was afraid she will get fired from the school.

Spiky said to her, "Happy Valentine's day! Don't be sad!", and gave her 3 roses.

A pelican was sad because he flew back from the warm lands mistakenly with the pack of grey geese and now he was miserable and cold.

Spiky wanted to give him 3 roses but thought to himself, "I don't know how many animals I will meet until I see Pinky. I would love to bring home at least 100 roses."

So then Spiky said to the pelican, "Happy Valentine's day! Don't be sad!", and gave him one rose.

A carp was sad in the pond because he had flunked the last international business exam at the university and he won't be able graduate on time with the rest of his class.

Spiky said to him, "Happy Valentine's day! Don't be sad!", and gave him one rose.

Then Spiky finally came home to the cabin. When Pinky opened the door, he said to her, "Happy Valentine's day! I brought 100 roses for you, my love!"

Pinky said, "A 100 roses... But I wanted 111..."

Then Spiky was sad and he told Pinky about all that happened on his way back from the animal's market and how he gave away 11 roses to cheer up sad animals.

Pinky then suddenly laughed and said, "Relax, Spiky I made a joke. To compensate for your loss I made 11 wormburgers for you!"
