My School Life

When many wish they were in a college as me, out from the boring and tiresome state of seeking admission, studying medicine and living the life they probably wanted far from home, I sit and wish I was home probably hustling to build the kind of dream I wanted for myself and family. The society has come to believe one can only succeed after passing through the walls of a school, as much as this is true, it has also weakened the use of our God given gifts in search for this school life. School is where dreams and hope are build and also destroy, it gives one what he chooses, in the case of dayo, he choosed adventure.

Wow,Dayo couldn't believe his eyes when he received the Goodnews about his name being shortlisted in the admission list."finally am in, soon i will build up my dream from here" he said to himself. He called at his friend's place and shared with him the good news . "So when are you leaving, just don't go around chasing the winds instead of your dream, I learnt higher institution are something else" kayode told him. "Forget that thing, I surely will make my people proud , and am leaving this Sunday" Dayo replied.

Soon, Sunday came and Dayo was already ready. His high hope for a college wouldn't allow him stay a day longer at home. he picked up his luggages and bid everyone good-bye.

He arrived school and located his apartment. There he met 4 guys to whom he would be sharing the room with. They all introduced themselves and soon they were off to sleep. Dayo woke up at mid night, he felt differently, the environment wasn't that friendly, he thought how he do cope with 4 different guys in a room, something he hasn't done before. As he was still thinking about all the vicissitudes, his mind flashed to a girl he has met at the entrance of the gate , she had given him a smile which made him had some soft spot for her. "School is good" I do cope nicely he said.

The session started properly and the school life was like a world on it own. Students who could talk from dusk to Dawn to the isolated type to the flirts, the pastors, the ones one can't actually tell where they fall to those that came to school not for the study but party and relationship etc. Just many individuals with their various character . It became tougher when Dayo couldn't cope with his roommates characters, they were the party type, who believed in enjoying their youthful age.

Dayo remained attached to his vision until he met Folake , the girl he had met earlier the day he came to school. They started on a friend zone and in a short while it metamorphosed into a relationship. Dayo joined the party life and soon he pinned his dreams on a girl's lap. Dayo couldn't help this new life of his, he felt that was life, it was the aspect of enjoying his youthful age but then , he was blinded to know the difference between enjoying his youthful and destroying his future... and so it continued until his final year where a bad news came in.

"Baby, am pregnant for you"

Dayo's dream became shattered in a night, he couldn't believe these. "I was hoping to graduate as a doctor but now am ending as a father"

"College isn't where you create dreams, it's where you either develop the dream you have created or destroy that which you have"- dayo's
