STAY BY ME

Courtship is always a period of time where intending couples get to know themselves,there are always lots of questions to be asked by each other, and ears are always itching to get repsonses.

Will you marry someone if you know that the person is infertile? Will you stick to your spouse if after marriage you realize that your spouse is infertile?

How far can you go to have a child? If you are diagnosed with infertility, will you tell your partner before marriage?

These are questions up for discussion from the novel "Stay with Me" by @ayobamidebayo

Stay with Me is a story of a married couple, Yejide and Akin who have been married for four years without a child.

Akin marries a second wife named Funmi and Yejide feels threatened by the presence of Funmi in Akin's life. She feels that the only way she can drive Funmi out of Akin's life is to have a child for Akin before Funmi does. Will Yejide have a child before Funmi does? Will she succeed in driving Funmi out of Akin's life forever?

Stay with Me has themes of Sickle Cell Disease, infertility, lies, deceit, polygamy, jealousy and secrecy.

I enjoyed reading this book, athough I don't approve of what Akin and Yejide did to have children. I would rather encourage people to adopt than do what Akin and Yejide did. And this book cover is lovely.

This book is an eye opener to some issues that partners should discuss and agree upon before marriage especially issues relating to infertility and in-laws. It also addresses the importance of partners being honest and open with each other before marriage and when married.

You can get your own copy and read, meanwhile it's always advisable to get books and read to get more insights about relationships whenever you plan to venture into one.
