Rivaldo and his experience with God

Today we will talk a little bit about the history of a historical Brazilian player who went through a very difficult moment in his life and how he did to overcome it.

His name is Vítor Borba Ferreira Gomes born in a city of Brazil called Recife, on April 19, 1972, known in the world of football as Rivaldo, was a crack in his time as a player with the Brazilian national team. On the field, especially within the defensive area of the rival team was a player to fear, due to his size, agility and ability to score goals. But one day he became a victim of panic, it was a hard moment in his life in which he fought hard until his life changed completely.

Before turning 32, the player began to hear voices in his mind, says the player in an interview, as if it were the devil talking to him, who told him that he would have a car accident. He spent 20 days with those voices in his head without saying anything to anyone, not even his wife. The player was afraid even though he believes a lot in God.

He was seriously thinking of retiring from the pitches when a friend and spiritual guide told him he was going to play in Angola, Rivaldo didn't believe him and after a few months he received the invitation.

After leaving Cruzeiro in 2004 he stayed to live in the city of Mogi Mirim, continued to hear the voices that would suffer a tragedy in a car accident, and was increasingly afraid to go out and drive.

One day he left on his way to Sao Paulo and passed by a road in Curitiba known as "Death Road" (Road of Death) so called because of its dangerousness, due to its terrible state, car accidents were very common in this area. The voices were not silenced, and they were more and more recurrent affirming to him that the car would fail and would suffer an accident. But suddenly, without knowing how or why another voice got into his head saying: "If you believe in me nothing bad will happen, just believe in me". The player claims that it was God's voice that spoke to him.

The days went by until April 19, 2004, precisely the day of his birthday, was a torment for him, when he was going back home in the car with his wife, began to suffer a panic attack, and when they reached the building while climbing the elevator could not contain the crying, She cried like a small child even more than the day her father died, it was then that his wife, Eliza recited a prayer next to him, she was a woman very believing in God read the Bible and told Rivaldo to follow God's way.

After that the player stopped listening to the voices, never had those panic attacks again and since then his life totally changed, now is another person, who respects all faiths and religions. This story tells because it was a very hard time in his life, and what he lived in those days is something that only he can explain. He asserts that not everyone has the same opportunity that he had, to hear God's voice to remove any torment from his life. Today he enjoys a quiet life and is now a believer in God, and at the same time thankful for helping him in such a difficult time.
