Heya, fellow steemians and otakus! It's me again, @yuki-nee for another [Poetic Short Story] titled, "The Hero's Malady"
The hero Olsen have a malady. And he is desperate for a remedy. He tried the witch Melinda's brew. Only to see a strange tumor grew! "I'm finished!" Hero Olsen lamented. He cannot fight the dragon while infected.
Desperate Hero Olsen approaches the wizard Stu. But to his dismay had his hands full too. Fortunately, fortune did turn her back on the hero. The wizard Stu said that he can turn his maladies to zero. But he needed to complete some task for the wizard. Hero Olsen agreed like a blizzard.
What could be harder than fighting a dragon? Any task compared to that is like riding a wagon. For his first task he needed to slay a chimaera. Then he must return with its viscera. The hero traveled far, and slay the chimaera with a bow and arrow from afar. Returning to the wizard's tower. He carried the chimaera's carcass with all his power.
For his second task he is ordered to retrieve a herb. In the cursed forest of Plerb. On his way he encountered a terrifying monster. But the hero did not sway and fought it with all the strenght he could muster. Before he retuned long successful. Though his journey had been stressful.
At last it is time for his last mission. Thus he prepared himself for the tension. The wizard gave him a potion, along with his final mission. "Go forth, and slay a dragon! Then return to me with its head on a wagon!" The hero Olsen was startled. But happily drink the potion with his mind settled. And with his malady cured the hero fought bravely. Finally defeating the dragon though he too was wounded gravely.
