Chapter 1

“No more water when one wants a drink.

No more shopping at the grocery stores at will; for the shelves are empty

No more classic cars on the road, the very definition of American culture

No more hunting in the mountains.

No more camping in wide open spaces.

No more.

No more.”

“No more” the fearful words on a waking man’s tongue as he rises from his 6 hour slumber. He lays in his bed just big enough to sleep one man. The blankets barely cover his bare dark bronze body from the waist down. He opens his eyes and stares at the distant ceiling above, then rubs his white beard in deep thought. He then thinks to himself, “No more, there is no more. I cannot believe our world is no more. But then again, I gave up on the world twenty-two years ago- yet I feel sorry for those who were moved away.”

The man laying in bed is Ziare: 6 foot 1, strong built Afro American man, age 48. He has white hair bright as moonlit snow and a set of white eyes to match; yes, white eyes. One day while hiking in the Wallowa Mountains he was struck by lightning. When he awoke in the hospital he looked in the mirror to see that his pupils and retina where white; solid white! In his past life he was older brother to Jesus and he is an offspring of Thoth, Egyptian god of wisdom and magic. In myth, Ziare was Arc Angel Raziel, a Seferoth of God. Of course all of these past lives are tied through DNA. Arc Angel Raziel sill exist as a “Walk-In” through Ziare. Ziare is one of the last humans to live during the computer Pisces Age.

Ziare is a man of many mysteries. He is said to have a wife and child living on the Northeast reservation; this was done by accident. He walks this earth with only one purpose; to go find his family.

Ziare laid in bed staring at the ceiling for another 30 minutes before getting up onto his feet. And so he laid there, in deep thought.

“Everyday is nothing but a dark memory” Ziare groaned, talking to himself: “These children are all that keeps my world afloat. I do not know what I would do without them.” Ziare looked at his black robe hanging by the closet door next to the window. The Sun shined with golden rays of through the a few tree branches and leaves that were in front of the window. An empty spider web hung fully intact with dew drops clinging to each strand. This vision was enough to make Ziare sit up and gaze at the work of art. He swiveled his body and put his strong bronze feet on the warm stone floor. “Such a work of beauty” he said while gazing at the spider web outside his room. He stood there wearing nothing but his underwear, staring out the window, through the leaves, through the branches and into the sunlight that pierced through the rows of trees.

He then walked over to grab his black velvet robe. When he grabbed his robe he caught a glimpse of a rather big sword tucked away in the back of the closet. “It is no more” he groaned speaking to himself again. He strolled over to the bed and took a seat back down on the bed. He bent over to put on his “PROPHET ZIARE!”

Just when he was about to put on his shoes, a little girl came into the door. She was no taller than three and a half feet, gold blonde hair and crystal blue eyes, the face of pure innocence. She looked up at Ziare like a child looking up at her beloved father before he picked her up to swing her around. “Prophet Ziare did you slyeep well lost nite?” She ran to Ziare and he lifted the little girl up, gave her a big smile, “I slept rather nice little one and you?” “Well you kno haw it goes; anotha Unicon, anotha tawking Frog, tawking Roach, the usual.” “Hahaaha” Ziare chuckled. “And woz it tha same fo you Prophet Ziare; memories of your wife and daughta?” Ziare sat the girl next to him and said, “Ahhh yes Shi’hera, same ole memories, but they are doing well, I still feel their connection.” “Well, I hope you foynd them“ Shi‘hera said. “I know ya well.” Ziare put his left arm around the little girl and hugged her tight, kissing her on the forehead. “OH, THOT REMINDS ME!” Shi’hera said with excitement: “I aam making mushroom cookays fo you and tha othas!”

Just then she jumped off the bed and ran out the door, “PROPHET ZIARE, got ta get to my cookays befo they bun. TALK TO YA SOON!” Ziare just smiled and looked to the closet. He looked over there as if he knew of something, like he was waiting for something to happen.
