A Walk Under the Rainbow
I had a very happy close encounter that afternoon, though sadly it was not of the third kind (badum tsss).
My friend and I had gone for an adventurous walk along the beach of a little town we had never been before, not too far from Melbourne. It was windy, it was chilly and then it was sunny and rather warm: typical Melbourne weather.
We were enjoying our time taking pictures and talking about everything under the sun (pun intended), until thick and heavy clouds covered the sky above us and decided to rain on our parade (am I on fire or what?). We ran to the nearest little hut we could find and stood there waiting for the rain to stop. It wasn't long until the clouds moved again and let some sun rays shine through. The result was pretty awesome: a massive rainbow that spanned across the beach. It was magical!
This guy walking under it with its dog made the scene that much more interesting.

Aah eravamo vicini un tempo fa' allora! Ho vissuto a Treviso per 4 anni fino al 2004 :) il Veneto ha del cibo delizioso!

Thank you for commenting :) Rainbows can be a bit tricky sometimes, especially because they come and go in such a short amount of time. Just keep trying and I'm sure you'll end up with a great shot eventually :)
I've got a couple in my repertoire... One I posted very early in my time here (admittedly, that rainbow was caused by a waterfall!) - but I promise to occasionally repost pictures as I don't want to leave anyone out!
