The race is not always for the fastest, the battle is not always for the strongest. Sometimes we get presented with opportunities that will change our lives at the moment we never expected.

I have heard of tales of athletes who were supposed to win a race who ended up pulling a hamstring. I know of people who were good swimmers who drowned or expert snake handlers who died from snake bite.

The world is so messed up sometimes that the thing we are so good at might end up costing us so much. So many magicians have died performing tricks they were good at. The late Fela once said "water no get enemy"

Even when we practise to perfection, we might end up still becoming a victim of our art but that should not stop us from doing what we love. Just as we have people who have died or sustained serious injuries from doing what they love, we also have those who couldn't wait to jump back into it.

Mistakes and accidents happen in life, but does that stop us from doing what we love? Should that stop us from the future? The answer is no and that is because those things happen to make us better.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. It might not actually be physical strength but it will make you better than you were and possibly better than you thought you could be.
You only live once, don't spend those moments wishing you could have done better, instead, do better.
