Humans are aimless and without plans

in #successful6 years ago

You must know Bob Sadino. One of the successful business figures in Indonesia who started his career by selling eggs door-to-door, then became a pioneer in the poultry and processed food industry, to successfully build his business empire to date. A rare opportunity for me personally, because for a long time I have admired one of these Indonesian business phenomena.

If you meet and have a direct dialogue with him, and hope to get instant business tips from Brad Sugars, chances are you'll be disappointed. Instead, all of your mindset will be turned upside down, shake it, shake it, and you go home in confusion. Me too. However, on the way home, I pondered, and it turned out that many things that were initially absurd, I managed to assemble in my brain into something that was just plain clear and reasonable. Really like dialogue with a Sufi. Now, you don't need to be confused, along with the notes of my meeting with Om Bob, from my point of view and conclusion:

Being stupid

Yes, you don't read wrong. To be a good entrepreneur, you just have to be stupid. This is his own language, the way to speak is very typical of "street" people. At first glance sounds rude and absurd. Even Om Bob was famous for his words which were then recorded: "What do you want to be rich in?" Yes, as if he was very anti-school, anti-learning, anti-reading and so on. In fact, in his house, I saw his bookshelf that was much denser than my bookshelf, obviously he was a learning creature. But the difference is, he is more action oriented and learns directly from life, not from school.

And if observed, it is precisely "being stupid" that has a very deep philosophy. By being stupid, you are always in a position to put aside your "Mr. I Know" and continue to learn and move on. Conversely, those who are in the category of "smart people" sometimes have several weaknesses that will hinder the process of becoming an entrepreneur, for example:

• Using logic too much, so you don't dare to dream big. Smart people rely on logic, so they only dare to dream in their logic. While idiots will dream far beyond their logic.
• Too much analysis. Smart people do various calculations of profit and loss from various methods and scenarios, so they don't even dare to take action immediately. An idiot, on the contrary take decisions quickly and bravely, and will learn from mistakes.
• Smart people because they know a lot of things, tend to want to do everything themselves. On the contrary, an idiot, because of his limitations will think to do recruitment and delegation of authority. This is what causes a lot of smart people when starting a business fails to form a team, because they want to be on all fronts.
• Smart people rely on knowledge and information from the past. Like food, information in the past has become stale, so sometimes it actually poisoned. The idiot always digs up information that is fresh and relevant to what is being done now.

Humans are aimless and without plans

Well, surely you are increasingly glaring, time without purpose? Yes, he repeatedly said that he had no plans and had no purpose. Wow, how come? So far, we have been taught to have clear goals and detailed plans to achieve these goals? How could such a large effort be developed without plans and goals? Yes, that's the reality, according to Om Bob. He was never burdened by plans and goals.

There are two key words that I caught from Om Bob in living a life without the purpose that he termed "flowing" earlier.

• First is: Process. By not sticking to goals, we will follow the process more, persevere with it, and give our best.
• Second is: Enjoyment. Om Bob emphasizes on "enjoyment" following the process. Bitter and bitter through the process, just enjoy it.

This principle is in accordance with the principle of "goal free living" written by Stephen Saphiro in his famous book. By freeing ourselves from rigid goals, we will always be able to see opportunities and opportunities that are sometimes suddenly present in our journey. "Goalsholic" people often miss opportunities in their lives because they are fixated on their "goals". Is not that interesting?

Free from three fetters

There are three fetters that according to Om Bob can hinder us:

• First: Fetters of Fear. These fetters are very strong gripping us, like fear of failure, fear of poverty, fear of being rejected.
This is a very strong inhibiting factor and must be broken.

• Second: Hope shackles. Sometimes we expect too much, so it becomes a fetter for ourselves. I haven't expected much, and finally disappointed because the hope was not achieved. By freeing yourself from hope, you will be free from disappointment. I think this is the "detachment" principle that is also highly recommended by Deepak Chopra.

• And third: Shackle the mind. This often affects "schoolchildren", who are bound by their own way of thinking, while reality in people's lives is far from the theory that has been studied.

Capital becomes a businessman

On the occasion yesterday, Om Bob distributed capital to all of us to become entrepreneurs. No, not money. The capital to become an entrepreneur according to him is not just tangible capital such as money, goods, etc. But in fact there are 5 capitals which, although intangible, are very important for all Entrepreneurs to have:

• Willingness. To become an entrepreneur, the conditions are really simple. You want. If you don't have a sincere and strong will to become an entrepreneur, then forget that you will become an entrepreneur.

• Determination. That is a very strong and unanimous determination, which will not be shaken by any circumstances, to become an entrepreneur.
Courage to take chances. Becoming an entrepreneur means having the courage to take action when opportunities pass before your eyes.

• Resilient and not whiny. Om Bob illustrates that, success is just a small spot on the mountain of "failure" or suffering. For him, failure is good, because we fail to learn and become better. So, an entrepreneur must be resilient, and there is no place to cry.

• Give thanks to the Almighty God. This is what he often reminds, that we must always return everything to God. Thank you for everything that has been achieved so far.

From black and white to sincere

In my opinion, Om Bob turned out to be a spiritualist with a level of understanding that already surpassed most people. He rested his life totally on Allah SWT. According to him, humans grow through several stages:

• The first stage is the "black and white" stage, where we rely on logic alone. Always think in black or white, right or wrong, and 2 + 2 always 4.

• The second stage is the stage of "wisdom", where we can give meaning behind the black and white. That behind black, sometimes there is white, on something white, sometimes there is black.

• Well, the third stage is the "empty", or "total surrender" stage, or sincerity. Where we fully believe that everything is arranged by God Almighty. Well, please judge for yourself which stage?

From here we understand. Why doesn't he have a plan? Because he has the "master planner". And why doesn't he have a goal? Because he knows that the life of God is decisive. Because sure, then he sincerely lives this life. That then he reap the rewards as they are now, only as a result of the actions he continues to do.

You agree? Om Bob said, it's up to you to agree or not. He never forced people to agree with him. In my opinion, he is an example of a human who has reached the "total surrender" stage. No exaggeration, if at the suggestion of one of the colleagues, we who were present yesterday agreed that Mr. Haji Bob Sadino deserves to be dubbed "Kyai Without Holster"
