The Sundarbans is the largest natural mangrove forest in the world. It is located in the southwestern part of Bangladesh, in Khulna, and in parts of the Indian state of West Bengal. The area of this forest is 10000 square kilometers. More than 60 percent of which is worn in Bangladesh and the rest in India.

There are 334 species of plants in the Sundarbans. The Sundarbans has 42 species of mammals, 120 species of fishes, 260 species of birds, 8 species of amphibians and 35 species of reptiles. Considering the biodiversity, UNESCO declared the Sundarbans a World Heritage Site on December 6, 1997.

The main attraction of the Sundarbans is the Royal Bengal Tiger. Mammals include Maya and Chitra deer, Indian and Java rhinos, pigs, etc. There are also several species of tortoises, guisap, chameleons, pythons, freshwater and saltwater crocodiles. The birds are fisherman, kite, buck etc. Among the fish are shrimp, black shark, cat fish etc. There are also marine dolphins.

However, many animals have become extinct in the Sundarbans, such as: wild bulls, para deer, one-horned rhinoceros, leopard tiger and a few species of birds including ducks.

The sweet fame of the Sundarbans has been there for a long time. Paper, boats and furniture are made from wood from the forest. Above all, the forest is a blessing for the residents of the Sundarbans.
