Yes, it is a kind of sauna. This sweat hut is a round shaped building, built up of adobe and covered with soil. Covered with wood inside and there is a small iron oven in the center. This sweat hut is for 10-12 people. For cooling down there is a wooden tub, filled with cold water.
I do yoga in a hot humid room I guess it's probably the same principle.
