RE: Wednesday wave

Howdy sir rossfletcher! Another great shot! How hard is it to get this kind of shot? I know the waves have to be strong enough first of all, do you usually get a couple of good ones each day the waves are coming in good?

Hmmm... Anyone could stand here and take photo's and they would probably get some good ones if they have a little bit of exposure to surfing or surf movies/videos. A decent camera makes a big difference. Phones are usually not capable of zooming in very close. That's changing though. If the waves are good and consistently coming in i can get A LOT of good shots! A few exceptional ones are possible too! I've been surfing since about 1968 and it does help me to have a much greater knowledge of what's going on than many casual observers. One thing that doesn't show in photo's is the waiting. Waiting for a wave to come in. If i'm not paying attention it's easy to miss. It's not a relaxing snooze on the beach like many people think.

oh rats, I thought you were relaxing on a lounge chair at the beach under an umbrella waiting for the good waves to come in, while you were sipping cold beers! lol. Now it sounds like work, I doubt if I could catch squat as far as good wave shots!
