Reputation is everything on @Steemit. Become familiar with the terms of service before posting. Infringement is serious. Here are a few reasons why you should or shouldn't flag a post for infringement. Consider your reputation; "If you were to improperly flag posts you're reputation may cost you your Steemit privileges."

Why shouldn't you flag posts for infringement?

Unless you own the copyrights your claim is a waste of time for the Steemit team's review of materials.

Explanation : In order to remove the content, or make claim to be furnished with any rewards earned by the content, you have to be the copyright holder. The 'to date' Terms of Service available on Steemit require that the furnishing of copyright holder proof in documentation is readily available. If an account was to flag posts for infringement without the appropriate authority, and wasn't able to produce the physical copyright of the content, it's a shill report. Shill reports are negative. Reporting without reason is costly to those that are employed to review reports. Reporting infringement without producing the proper documentation will only waste everyone's time.

Make sure you own the content. In the event of a report being made you'll need to furnish the official documentation to have it removed. Every content generator is different.
