Syrian Civil War map as of 12th October 2018

The Syrian civil war is a conflict in the Middle East wich involves different factions and foreign nations.:

-The Syrian Arab Republic, led by Bashar Al-Assad is currently supported by Russia and Iran. It was the government that ruled before the civil war escalated. Some say he is a dictator, altrough he names himself after "president". Vladimir Putin has a strong influence over the nations and the events in this war
-The Syrian Opposition, led by George Sabra is, as it's name says, the opposition to the government of Bashar Al-Assad. They vow for a democratic Syria, and they want to get rid of what the call the current president of the Syrian government Bashar Al-Assad. They are directly supported by Turkey, and recieve political support by the US and France.
-The Democratic Federation of Northern Syria, more known as Syrian Kurdistan, Rojava or Northern Syria, is an autonomous region in the Middle East. They are politically supported by Russia, the US and France. They have very bad relations with Turkey, due to the Kurdish-Turkish conflict.
-ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), or ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) is a terrorist group located in Syria wich has claimed responsability for many terrorist attacks in different countries such as France, the UK, Nigeria and Indonesia. This terrorist group is affiliated with Al-Qaeda, and is hated by the entire world. There even was a world coalition formed aganist it. ISIS goals are to create a new Radical Islamist Caliphate.

Israel has occupied a region of Syria named Golan Heights. The 2 countries are currently not at war, and Israel is not participating (at least, not directly) in the Syrian Civil War.

The war has forced more than 7 Million Syrians to be internally moved, wich means, they had to abandon their homes to save their lives. At the same time, over 5 million had to leave the country as refugees. Most have gone to European nations, wich has caused a Migratory crisis since 2015. Aproximately the war has taken 500,000 casualties.

It is certainly one of the deadliest conflicts in this century, and it has ruined the lifes of many.
