Return of the Runelords: Session 1
I had a great first session in my new Pathfinder game I am running with the adventure path, Return of the Runelords. I am going to document the sessions on here both as a record of what happened and something that might be entertaining to my followers.
Spoiler Alert: I will keep these blog entries safe for my players and only discuss what they've already experienced, but I will be spoiling the adventure path. So if you wish to be a part of this game in the future as a player, read no farther.
The game started with only part of the party knowing each other. Thankfully they made it an easy job to get them all together as the shopped in the circle market. They had some fun bargain shopping and then they decided to intervene in a potential intergang feud, but all potential conflict was interrupted by a visit from Roderic's ghost, who sent everybody running with fear. They then were asked by a friendly NPC to help investigate why the ghost has returned to defend his city. They quickly moved to investigate Roderic's old home where we all remember how deadly swarms are to first level parties without a mage to their name. After a few easy encounters and a few traps, they ran into a swarm of spiders. This swarm very nearly killed a party member and eventually everybody had to flee the house by diving out of various windows.
Interspersed with all the action was some grade A roleplaying, so all in all in was a great session and I am looking forward to the next one where they will finish exploring the wreck and who knows what direction they'll head after that...
