Tarot Tuesday - August 21-28, 2018 - Something BIG is Coming to Light, Don't Back Down Now

With eclipse season over and all planets turning direct in September, we can look forward to some much needed relief and better times ahead. However, the end of August will still be feeling a bit rocky and turbulent so we aren't quite out of the woods just yet.
We have Venus in Virgo until the end of August (it's sign of debilitation) receiving an aspect from Saturn, giving us reality checks in our relationships and finances. Mars and Saturn are still retrograding through the sky but both will be going direct by the end of the first week of September, thankfully. We will need to look and see which houses in our vedic astrological chart these planets are ruling because we are preparing for a change of direction in these areas. While Saturn and Mars have been retrograding, we have been going over these areas problem solving by backtracking and reviewing but will soon be moving on plans for a change of course when these planets station direct and begin their forward motion once more.

With that being said, let's get onto this week's reading!
I asked for a sneak peek at the energies that we will be encountering this week and for some advice about how to best to handle what is to come. I used my rose quartz runes, the Wild Unknown tarot deck and a new deck I just picked up called the Pixie's Astounding Lenormand deck.
The rune cast is Sowilo and it represents the idea of clarity, realization, and is the rune that represents the energy of the Sun. I was shocked when the clarifying card I threw next to it contained the exact same energy! Double Sun! Something is going to dawn on us this week, some kind of clarity and awareness will be shining forth, something that we can't miss!
Below the rune cast, I asked the Wild Unknown for some insight into what this energy would look like. We see the 7 of wands bringing forth the idea of a light being made apparent, almost like someone fired up a match so that we can see something we really need to see. Fire is symbolic of Mars, the planet of action. Mars will be stationing direct on August 28th, calling us to take the lead for the win! Mars happens to be in it's sign of exaltation, Capricorn, so this will be powerful, courageous action we are called to take.
Once we have this realization of what we need to do, we will be called to stand up for our beliefs and what we feel righteous about, not backing down but standing tall and firm in our truth while defending what we know to be right. In the next card, the Hierophant, we see a crow. Crows are always indicative of Saturnian energy which brings up the idea of boundaries and karmic lessons. Remember, Saturn will be stationing direct on September 7th - calling us to incorporate justice and fair play into our actions while we move forward with what we learned while it was retrograding by setting the record straight and upholding order.
We see the crow crying out as a lightning bolt strikes the key he is sitting upon. The Hierophant speaks about traditional values and the way society operates - the normal way of doing things that we all collectively understand. The important insight we gain this week will cause us to instantly realize and activate the solution (key) to what is being brought to our attention. We will most likely need to communicate with someone about this in some powerful fashion as this realization causes us to become aware that something destructive is going on and it needs to be confronted - pronto. We can see this destruction occurring in the Tower card as the lightning hits the tree, creating instability and devastation. Damage control and containment are very fitting themes here.
The last three cards were drawn for advice about what to do about this situation. Here we see a bear walking away from the confusion of the clouds and moving towards the sea where we spot a ship on the water. We are being called to leave solid land and the safety of home (our comfort zones) in order to gain movement with a more fluid element. Bear energy is known for it's strength, fearlessness, and authoritative power. Native lore often speaks of bear as a disciplinary animal spirit that doles out judgment on bad mannered humans. This is exactly what Saturn does as well!
If you find yourself in a situation this week where you receive an inner illumination that someone is doing something destructive, dig your heels in and confront them. Be fierce like the bear and don't be afraid to open your mouth. Instead of being confused or not knowing how to handle this, take them on like a bear and move towards creating forward motion in the situation based on societal norms and good principles rather than passively allowing this destructive energy to continue.
