Authentic Jakarta Breakfast
Today we had a breakfast but I could say it was brunch because it was around 11 am at Kafe Betawi which is located at 4th floor Pacific Place Mal, South Jakarta. The dining place is not big, and there are always customers here.
The interior had theme of the old Jakarta.
The menu
What we ordered for the brunch were
Nasi uduk semur daging
(Coconut infused fragrant rice with traditionally cooked beef stew, potato and tofu)
The taste of the rice was tasty, and the taste of the beef and also potato and tofu that traditionally cooked were tasty and a bit sweet.
Nasi ulam
(Rice served with beef jerky, traditionally cooked tofu and potato, fried rice vermicelli)
The taste of the beef jerky was sweet and easy to swallow like usually, the traditionally cooked tofu and potato were tasty and sweet, the rice vermicelli tasted savory. So It had complete flavor.
Both kind of rice were Jakarta's authentic dishes and served with the authentic sambal kacang (peanut chilli sauce), but I said it was not spicy at all.
The food that we ordered cost totally cost 121,000 IDR or around 8,4 USD. The ambience was quite comfortable and the service was good too.

Nasi Uduk is one of my fav breakfast. Unfortunately, in my opinion, Kafe Betawi serves food that is less tasty compared to the others.
Thanks for sharing with Tasteem. Keep up the good work.
