A SUMPTUOUS FOOD ESCAPADE
Are you in a SEAFOOD Diet?? ------- that is when you SEE FOOD YOU EAT! :D
Well, you gotta love this Seafood Restaurant that that my friends and I always always hangs out every time there is a special occasion. Or even times when we just want to eat.
You can never go wrong with Seafoods!
Well anyway, Pagatpat Seafood Restaurant in Matalom, Leyte is n more or less an hour away from Sogod, Southern Leyte. You can catch a bus or a van going there. Or if you are like us, we road out using our motor bikes.
The place is strategically located at the Mangrove protected area. They only used bamboo and wood cuts to lift and float the cottages. They have not cut down any branches of the trees planted there. Fresh ocean air will always kiss your skin. And they have the fantastic view of the ocean. Isnt that what we truly call dining out??
The view truly attracts local and foreign tourist to come. There is enough parking space alloted too except for special occasions where the place is jam-packed with guests!
The place is famous for freshly caught seafoods and cooked right after. They also have the boodle servings. Have you heard of it? This is how it looks like. It pretty much have a little bit of everything in one big platter.
But my friends and I dont want to order that for it will not be enough for us. That serving is good for 2-4 persons. We would rather order food at per kilo basis and request them to cook the food the way we like it.
This was the orders we made in our last visit there in March 2019.
- Grilled Fish - You can choose which fish to grill or to cook. They come in different variations and sizes. I think this fish weighed more than a kilo.
- Fried Shrimp - they have big and small ones to. We loooooooove shrimp so much that we order 1 kilo for this alone and we have 2 more kilos to be sauteed under butter and garlic.
- Crabs - Lunch would never be complete without crabs in our menu. We had this cooked and bathed under coconut milk. hmmmmm.. Just yummy and so rich!
- Shells We just wanted it top of the grill with some lovely cheese on top or you can ask them to cook under butter too.
- Squid - We ordered one kilo and just tossed it too to the grill. In other times, we wanted it only sauteed.
The restaurant offers other food items in their menu. They also have cold beers and season fruits shakes.
Having our lunch out there is not just worth the trip and worth of our money, but the time well spent. We mostly enjoy eating there with our bare hands. When its great food, it must be eaten with your hands.

Wasay-wasay, nalaman ko siya sa Isla de Gigantes. Parang scallop ang laman pero parang bato ang itsura. At dahil parang bato eh parang di nakakain pero nung natikman ko, masarap siya! Mapaparami ka ng kanin! 😃
