A cozy Michelin star pub to meet your blind date
The Coach in Marlow, UK is a pub/restaurant run the renowed chef Tom Kerridge who owns the Michelin gastro pub Hand and Flowers nearby. That in itself shouts quality already. This is a small pub with not many table and makes it the perfect place to meet your blind date so you can get to know one another much better.
The downside is, you can't book a table here so you have to arrive early. I got here just as they opened at around 6pm so had no problem getting a table. You can start off with drinks first. As you can see the inside is fairly small. There are seats by the bar, which is great as you can see the chefs working away inside the kitchen, preparing your food.
There are other small tables inside the restaurant, they are packed quite closely together so its nice and cozy.
The menu consists of many small dishes like tapas and you can order the nibbles one by one.
Before you ask, I didn't come here for a blind date. I came with my wife and 3 other friends and we sat by a small table by the window. We each had our drinks on the table, plus the cutlery, so we couldn't order too many dishes at one go. You can see from the photos, our table top is really packed.. That was fine though, it meant we had more time to chit chat. Here are some of the dishes we ordered that evening. We ordered some other dishes as well, but I didn't take photos of all of them. I was too busy tucking in!
The Coach Burger
The Coach chips, these were so good that we actually ordered them twice
This is the fillet of sea bream
The quail
And I think this is the steak which is a special not on the normal menu. You can see the ceasar salad behind.
The pub is on the side of road and it's quite easy to drive pass and miss it, which is exactly what I did! Also, its quite difficult to take a nice photo as the pavement is quite narrow, and I wasn't prepared to dash across the road in the dark and rain to do that!! So here's one sourced from the internet. Now you know what to look for if you ever visit.

I would recommend here for your blind date, just make sure to get here early so you can grab a table otherwise your date might not be too happy to wait around for too long!
All the photos are taken by myself except for the last one as stated.

I wonder about the taste fillet of sea bream and caesar salad. I have never eaten that menu before.
All the small dishes here are very nice, good mix and match

This looks like my kind of place :D lovely review and lovely menu, I would have trouble deciding what to choose, although I like the tapas idea. One thing, though ... how fo you get into that towering Coach burger? :D
The buger is one of those typical looks good but difficult to eat plate of food. You either end up eating three soggy burgers or cut it all the way down and it all falls apart. Either way - messy !!
Looks so relaxing place and good food
