Kauri - Japanese Cuisine in Vienna where you don´t expect it!
Hi Steemians,
I would like to recommend you this little inconspicuous Japanese restaurant in the North of VIenna, near the United Nations Headquarters. In the past I was often there (when I had worked nearby), but recently I revisited it several times to check if it is still the same and I was not disappointed - quite the opposite!
From outside you easily can overlook it.
But it´s interior is very homely and you immediately feel well.
It has also a nice garden where you can sit (in summer) under a cherry tree!
They offer a plenty of Bento boxes, soups, salads, Wok dishes and last not least sushi, sashimi and maki sets of all kinds.
This time I ordered a Salmon Bento box, served with Miso soup (not depicted), salad, rice, grilled salmon pieces with vegetables in Teriyaki sauce, 6 vegetable Maki, and a fruit. All in all very yummy, the salmon being the highlight, very soft and tasty - not overdone as it is often the case.
The box costs 8,2€ (app. 10$) - a more than fair price for such a quality.
Unfortunately per default they are opened only Mo. to Fr. during lunch hours, but if you are a group, they will open the restaurant for you.
