An Update on Tauchain & Agoras (Removal of Bittrex wallet + Github updates)

1. Removal of AGRS wallet.

I would like to inform the community here that Bittrex is planning to remove the AGRS wallet on their platform by 21st January 2019. Here is their official announcement: https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001489866-Wallet-Removal-on-January-21-2019

So if you still have AGRS tokens stored over there, please move them to:-

  • Omni Wallet (https://www.omniwallet.org) or,
  • Any Bitcoin address, as long as you own the private keys. Yes, AGRS is an OMNI-asset on the Bitcoin blockchain. It's a placeholder token that will be ported over when both Tauchain and Agoras comes to fruition.

2. Available exchanges.

AGRS markets are available for those interested. Please take note of the relatively low volume and liquidity at time of writing.

Openledger exchange:-

AGRS / BTC: https://openledger.io/market/AGRS_BTC
AGRS / STEEM: https://openledger.io/market/AGRS_STEEM

3. Github updates.

While the expected Q3 2018 release date for Tauchain's core innovation, Tau Meta Language (TML) has come to pass, developer Ohad Asor has been constantly updating the code on Github: https://github.com/IDNI/tau/blob/master/tml.cpp, along with a brief on Bitcointalk:-

the status is that the part equivalent to datalog has no more known bugs except performance bugs. in other words, two more things are left to be done:

  1. support negation (correctly as the code now handles it incorrectly)
  2. improve performance
after those two steps tml will be released. i expect it to be highly appealing to various technical groups and needs, e.g. bdd-based (binary decision diagrams) database (cf. datalog with bdd and its advantages), and, apparently the first implementation ever of partial fixed point logic over finite domains, and, a metalanguage that can redefine itself (not easy to come up with such which is decidable!), and, a language adequate to be the language of law. to be the language of law we require 3 things: decidability, self reference (to be able to tell which law or legislation is legal), and ability to change laws with time (i.e. deletion).

Ultimately, it's difficult to predict completion time for such a fundamental piece of technology, but I personally expect that it can be done and would like the idea to catch on. So here's an invitation to study the project and the code. Check out the website, Github repository, and blogposts from the developer - best to start from the post at the bottom and work your way up.

Hi
I read this article and the first two reference articles you wrote explain Tau. This is a complex subject, but I am beginning to understand. I am quite surprised by the premise that our language introduces errors to the blockchain due to inherent errors, for lack of a better word, in the language. But it makes sense...

A standing joke for anyone who works with electronic medical records (EMRs) is that the EMRs are flawed because their creators are flawed. And your article brings some enlightenment to this observation, but serves up a brand new reason for this trait, which is noted in practically all EMRs.

I share your enthusiasm for SteemShutter technical traits and truly believe it is a under rated standout in the crypto world. I think it’s incredibly well educated community is also a positive anomaly.

I am going to have to learn much more to fully comprehend what’s going on in this space, but I appreciate your articles for breaking down these concepts.

I wish you luck with your witness project and you have my vote.

Thank you,
@shortsegments

Thanks for checking articles out and for your vote! Indeed it’s not an easy subject to talk about. Feel free to join the social channels if you have further questions!

Nice to see you here @kevinwong. I assumed you have already said Goodbye to this platform. Thanks for sharing this important information. I guess most people can't see the impact TAU will have on modern technology in future.

Oh I’m still around everyday! Good to know you are too. Let’s look forward together to what tau has in store :)

Great to see you around again man. It appears to be a one-man team as Ohad looks like the only dev in the project?

Good to see u too. And yup such is the nature of this project. Not one man team but one man dev, for now. It requires a combination of logic, maths, complexity theory, compsci etc so not easy to find anyone at all (to my surprise, actually, but even then it would also require someone who is free enough to dig into it).

Make sense, but seeing what ambitions Tau are aiming at, I don't think a one man dev/team would be suffice to sustain in long run. It is too overwhelming for Ohad himself alone.

Nice to see you around. It's a shame that nobody is looking into truly world changing products while stupid/toxic conversations like this: https://twitter.com/cburniske/status/1085896336996585472 becomes the norm. People should really pay more attention to exchanges like Bitshares and try to improve liquidity there.

yeah they don’t seem very supporting of the rest of the ecosystem eh? But it isn’t so easy to navigate the landscape anyway

I think they could at least look into technology and potential of a project for 20 minutes instead of just following the hype. You are bound to notice the potential in some good 20 minute research. It could still be a very flawed understanding, but that way you are less likely to miss out on great projects.

Glad Tau made you come back, my friend.
Some people were complaining about the smell of the hilarious shitposting.
Make a light shine on Steemit, and I hope it didn't steal your reality's sense of humor.
Welcome back.

I wasn't away at all.. just a storm of circumstances making me not wanna write (or can't write), but it really is just a mental impasse. Regardless, thanks for the welcoming! haha. do check this out to get a taste of tml's poc: https://tml.klapka.cz/

Thank you @kevinwong for the heads-up.
Are you the developer of Agoras?

Oh no I'm not the dev. Just an enthusiast who is invested in the project.

Thanks for the heads up @kevinwong. I don't own agorass but this can be applied to any coins sitting in an exchange. The wallet is the safest place.

... A rare wong sighting , peace bro 😆

I feel like an endangered species.. :/

lol... steem users do have that unfortunate distinction of late /-:

Wow I guess this is not good, I wonder what this announcements may spell for AGRS itself

Bittrex has delisted AGRS since about a year ago, so I don't think the removal of wallet on Bittrex now has any effect on AGRS.

wow I have a few guys I need to inform then, thank you so much

Tauchain is starting to look like a hobby project of 1 guy.... I like the idea but i dont think a 100 guys like him could deliver it inside 10 years.

But. We shall see.

You must be one of the most vocal supporters of Tauchain so i assume you can come into contact with Ohad. We could always use another decent dev/witness for STEEM. ;)
