VISITING SMALL LOCAL RAINFOREST, NEARBY TO HOME..
Small entrance into river washing down from the mountains. The fresh water is tainted with dirty water because of recent rain, but usually the clarity is good.
Large 200 year old ficus strangling figs towering above and providing shade with there canopies.
These figs are fascinating because they grow next to a large native tree and than start to wrap around the tree slowly strangling it until it takes over and the tree dies.
Mosses, ferns and lichens line the forest floor and cover rocks welcoming the shade from the trees canopies, and the rich moisture in the air.
I know I live by the beach and forest too, but there is somthing always spiritual and special about walking into acient rainforest that sits untouched and lyes never disturbed.
