My uncle was fuming through his nostrils when he brought this matter up during an ordinary family dinner. Apparently he applied for two Touch 'n Go cards a long time ago. One is for daily usage, and he kept the other one in case for an emergency. He deposited RM25 into his spare card.
When he finally decided to terminate his spare card, then only to his surprise, a total amount of RM20.60 was credited from it. He was told that his card was dormant for more than a year, and RM5.30 will be deducted from the card for every six months of dormancy. So not only RM10.60 was deducted from his balance, the deposit of RM10 for the card was also not refunded to him.
I'm not sure if everyone one of you are aware of this matter but if you have not been using your Touch 'n Go cards for a long time, please check your balance and terminate them ASAP if you are not using them.
This is just a reminder for those people who are not aware of this matter and I have no intentions of defamation.
