Kota Kinabalu 1st International Performing Arts Theatre
What if I tell you that Kota Kinabalu will be able to organize and invite national and international renowned artist to perform in theater, opera, orchestra, concerts and many more art related show as early as next year? It is hard to believe but that is a fact. Exciting right? Kota Kinabalu and Sabah particularly will have its first International Standard Theater just as good as The Istana Budaya in Kuala Lumpur. It is located at the old Sabah Port, in the vicinity of the on going construction of the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) project site.
The 5 levels theater can accommodate 1200 people including VIPs at one time. Its inner designs layout and systems for performing art will be even better than the world famous Sydney Opera House. I cannot elaborate much on the inner design of the building, as it is still in it's initial stage, but I can assure you that it is going to be awesome. For art and theater lovers out there, I'm sure you are going to love this.
At the moment, the building is still under construction, at 70% work progress. Once the structure is ready, the Mechanical and Electrical works will then commence. The sound system, stage lighting, stage curtains are high end, state of the art including all the acoustic treatment and seats designed by world renowned specialist from Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Hopefully, with the construction of this theater, more international artist will be interested to come and perform here in Sabah. I hope Kota Kinabalu someday can be the hub to produce top quality artist for Malaysia and the world.

Wow!! Can't believe Sabah will have its own Performing Art Theater.. this is not only a good news for our local artists but it will also boost our tourism!
