1st Assessment Day for the little 4 years old

in #teammalaysia6 years ago (edited)

Hey there, this is my second blog post in #steemit after my introductory post yesterday. I can't believe I received so many warm welcome and so many loves! Thank you so much! ❤ especially a BIG THANK YOU to #teammalaysia for the endless support! I'M SO LUCKY TO BE IN THIS POSITIVE AND SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY ❤❤❤

So today is monday... also, it is the . . .

ASSESSMENT DAY

Like any other morning, all the 4 years old came to the kinder with smiles on their faces, excited to meet their friends. And some were still crying never wanting to say goodbye to their parents (and I, as the teacher would have to persuade them and give them attention & love)

But today was a special day. They were going to have their very first exam! In my kinder, we called it as Assessment day.

Assessment day is always done at the end of each term. Basically it is to monitor and to assess the childrens' progression for the whole term. And the result will later be given to each parent.

Okay so what do the teachers do? We can't possibly just give the Assessment papers to the kids and expect them to understand what to do on their own. Bear in mind that they are still 4 years old 😍

First, we did a quick revision by recalling back their previous lessons. Because children learn by repetition. Only by repetition will we be able to engraved the lessons onto their memories. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Here the teacher is doing a quick revision with the children. Look at their adorable faces listening attentively. And of course some are still sleepy

Then, we called a few children at a time to answer the paper. As it is easier for us to monitor and control them (because they would just play around and the class would be a disaster, serious talk)

Look at them sitting alone being isolated from their friends! So adorable! I feel like a proud parent just watching them 😭❤

Each child has different stages of progression. Some are able to grasp the lesson at a fast pace. And some are not able to catch the gist of it. It could be affected by the teacher's own creative teaching method. And also the parents' effort at home in giving additional lesson to their children. It would be such a great advantage for the children if their parents could spend more time in teaching them at home. They will be able to catch up on the lessons at school.

Being a teacher is such a noble career as we build the character of the child first-handedly. We carry such a huge responsibility in shaping the child's mind and character.

HUGE RESPECT TO TEACHERS OUT THERE! ❤

That's all for today. Thanks for sparing your time to read my blog post! You guys are amazing! ❤❤❤
