Sarang Art Hub, Tanjung Malim Perak
A nest for the artsy beasts
Located in Tanjung Malim, Perak, it is owned by the renowned Malaysian film director, Mamat Khalid. The place built/restored to the local Malay house architecture, filled with tributes to the local art and international art scene in a form of posters, murals, and artifacts.
The main attraction is a special room full of movie posters of local films from 1933 (Laila Majnun) to the latest film by Mamat Khalid himself this year, the local box-office-breaking, 30-million-ringgit-ticket-collection, Hantu Kak Limah.
Also displayed are the main props from his latest movie and other historical artifacts from the yesteryears. A number of books and awards won by Mamat Khalid. I saw a room filled with guitars probably of his collection there too, but its not open to the public.
A nice place to chill
Another main attraction is the live band performance almost every night. The theme can be from local to international, mostly rock scene. Most gatherings of the art community are often held here. Quite a spacious location just for that purpose.

Especially on Saturday nights where most of the gatherings are organized and on time with the local Pasar Malam (night market).
Pay a visit and most surely you will bump into local artists if not Mamat Khalid himself :)
