First time gold panning
Now we live on the South Island, I thought it is a good idea to start with gold panning. I ordered a beginners kit last week and today it was the first day to do some practise.
The next time I go alone because my daughter is not patient enough. We found no nuggets today but we saw some awesome places and had a lot of fun.
At least we made some golden memories for the soul.
I'm curious ... have you ever met anyone who's found gold by panning? For some reason, I was thinking that panning hasn't worked much since the 1800s. But I want to be wrong about this ... it would be a great excuse to hang out in a stream.
There are still guys making money with goldpanning. For the good spots (New Zealand) you must have a (expensive) license. Mining for cryptocurrency is more populair these days.

Most of our precious time we are searching for the wrong things. We can get the most important things for free and keep it forever.
used to enjoy doing it as a kid, didn't find much though lol
I definitely go back with the kids, it is a nice activity (also without nuggets lol).
