Ever heard of 'SO YA' ????? I've been there and it is incredible ;) Part 1

Hey everyone, when you go on vacation and after a 6 hour drive, enter your destination and it is a little town/estate like So Ya and you are met with views such as this you just know it is going to be an amazing stay and so it certainly was!

Now SO YA is a very special little place deep in the African bush where 'relaxed' is re-defined and it is glorious. Crime does not exist, the word 'stress' no one understands and braai's (BBQ's) are a bi-daily event!

The sun always shines and the stars are always bright and spectacular. Been deep in the African bush no air pollution exists so it really is a 'pseudo astronomer' like myself total dream.

Above and below pic is was our neighbors place he has a business in Pretoria but his little bush hideaway looks like this. Many folks here are 'off-grid' solar power as well as all the water supplied to the area is borehole water, 'sweet water' it is literally sweet and you are able to drink it straight from the taps which is a rare occurrence in South Africa as mostly tap water is highly chlorinated,fluoridated etc. This makes a really delightful and healthy change.

Back to the braai's shall we? This pic I took at another neighbors place, pretty much all houses have an awesome braai/entertainment area, this is what we do in South Africa, Braai kings ;) As you can see, seats for many folks to sit eat, drink and me merry South African Style!

Didn't believe it is called So Ya?? Here's the proof. So Ya is Afrikaans and literally translated means SO YES!!

Here we have the cute and beautiful @annelienqueenb and her Mom doing what can only be described as a 'hold up'??? I seem to remember they were stretching their backs or something but it was rather funny and I just had to capture it.

Now for our daily braai, today we chose to have a 'potjiekos' which is basically just a stew done in what we South Africans call a 'potjie pot' nice thing about it is the smokey flavor that permeates the food to create a taste so much more rich and flavorsome than just a traditional stew.

This was the view we had to look at daily of the neighbors property just idyllic sights and a glorious garden they have with plants never seen before of which some I never knew existed such as the 'Oliphant Poot' Elephant Foot, which I shall feature in another blog.

Probably the only 'jukskei' course in the whole complex. I never thought I would love this game so much been an Englishman of Scottish and Irish descent but I really did, it was fantastic, needless to say I rocket it like a boss. I make many posts on this beautiful country South Africa and Africa as a whole and generally I end them off by asking one question and here it is again. When is your visit to Africa the amazing?
