Why do people use social media?

I have thought of a few reasons why people use social media. Social interaction, with this they meet new people and keep in touch with family and friends. Passing time, social media is great for killing time . Entertainment, you can play games, music and videos. Watching people update their accounts is entertainment . Relaxation, other peoples post can help re leave stress and act as can also advertise. Convenience. Social media is very easy to access and it can be used on any device with internet connection.

How much and when should we use it

Using something to much even if it is a good thing it can become bad. So everything in moderation. When should we use it? We should keep use of social media to when we have nothing important to do or free time. Not in school, work or while we are in a meeting.

How does it effect our daily lives?

This all depends on your amount of your usage. Social media can have a really positive effect. If you use it appropriately. If you keep the use of social media to your free time then it wont get in the way of anything. If you constantly use social media you begin to not worry about things around you and you become so involved in social media that it takes over your life and it becomes a priority over important things.

Has social media changed the way we socially interact??

Before we had technology the only ways of communication was face to face and letters. The mechanical age is when we first started seeing connections between our technology and is ancestors. This was between 1450 and 1840. Once technology started playing a role in our society we started having many more means of communication. The first phone was made in 1876. Phones are the biggest mediums for social media users. This has made social interaction digitized.

How will social media effect us in the future?

Social media has already effected us for the future. I think that the world will become so involved in social media that even when people are around each other in person they will communicate through social media that even when people are around each other in person they will communicate through social media and not worry about whats going on around them and worry more about their digital lives. People wont live in the moment they will live in what they captured with their phones. A good reference is the movie Wall-E where the world was destroyed by humans and then they where living glued to their screens and not experincing the outside world. Our world is heading in that direction slow but surely.
