If we want an organisation to move forward together effectively, it is helpful by conducting team building from time to time. We cannot take for granted that people are able to work together even though they subscribe to the goal of their organisation. The team members may have diverse backgrounds, different personalities, talents etc. Therefore, team building can help to resolve the possible tension due to differences as well as to foster partnership for achieving the common goal.

When I am asked to conduct team building for an organisation or a group, the tool I like using is called, “Discovering Uniquely You”. Indeed, everyone is unique, and it is necessary for the team members to know one another’s uniqueness to work together to accomplish their common goal more effectively.

Using “Discovering Uniquely You” as an instrument, we are to find out the personality of each person as well as one’s talent. Knowing the talents of the members, we learn to work together and depend on one another’s talents to accomplish the work that requires a collaboration of various talents. And by knowing one another’s personality, we can minimise unnecessary conflicts, and move forward courageously and cautiously. In other words, if there are extrovert driven members who tend to direct others, but without the introverts who are cautious, the extrovert driven people may make mistake without an understanding of the whole process. The introvert who are also cautious can complement the driven extrovert if they both are humble enough to listen to one another and to work together.

Therefore, a good team building seminar is able to increase the chance for a team to accomplish the goal.

如果我们希望一个组织有效地前进,那么不时进行团队建设会很有帮助。即使这团隊已经设定了他们的目标,但是不等於大家会理所当然地一起工作。团队可能是由不同的背景、不同个性、各种才能的人仕所组成。因此,团队建设可以帮助解决由于差异所产生的冲突,並且促进关系一同迈向目标。

有时我受邀为某组织或团体主持团队建设,我个人喜欢使用的工具是被称为“发现独特的你”的性格及才能调查工具。而事实上,每个人都是独一无二的,团队必须了解各人的独特性和不同才能以便更有效地实现共同的目标。

使用“发现独特的你”作为一种工具,我们能找出每个人的个性以及那个人的才能。了解各成员的才能,並学习彼此依靠我们才能更好地配搭一起工作。此外,通过認识各人性格,我们可以减少不必要的冲突,并勇敢而谨慎地前进。换句话说,如果内中有外向型成员倾向于指挥他人,而缺少了内向型成员的谨慎,外向的人可能会在傖促过程中犯下错误。如果这两类型的人彼此聆聽,并一起工作,这团隊就可以胆大心细地迈向目标。

所以,假如有良好的团队建设研讨会,通常能够增加这团队实现目标的机会。
