Our Teardrops Of History: 120th Philippine Independence
Greetings of nationalism steem buddies! Today, we go beyond the meaning of loving our country as we celebrate the 120th independence day celebration at the heart of where it all started at Lapu-Lapu Heritage Shrine.
When we talk about independence we always look back at the past how our heroes have make a difference for all of us. A lot of them have made a mark, however funny it seems that the real essence of independence have been forgotten. Independence is not just about loving and fighting for country's sovereignty, there is more to it.
It should be about making a change for a better nation, for me its non-negotiable we should be of the same barometer in doing our own little or big ways in making an impact for our country.
The challenge now, is for our new generation to give bigger and deeper importance of our Philippine history especially our local history. No one can't forget the battle of Mactan but how about other heroes who also give their lives for our country. The challenge is to reawaken the love for Philippine history, to give importance to all who have fight and died for independence.
The time is now to make our local history even stronger by reteaching and learning more our own history. Teaching and informing them that its not just Lapu-Lapu, Rizal, Bonifacio or other well known heroes that fought for our independence. There were also other local heroes and uprisings like Leon Kilat, Cuatro Niños, Tres de Abril Uprising and more that also stood for our independence.
Every connection starts now, a thing in the past that we all believed should be given importance by all, the national and local government unit, the people and our youth "millenials."
Honoring our hero Lapu-Lapu by the city government led by Mayor Paz Corro Radaza and city councilors.
Its how we give honor and praise for this independence day. Nationalistic Singing and dancing.
