Elon Musk brings us to Mars much sooner than you think

in #tech6 years ago (edited)

We have already had the moon, and every now and then we pop into space to do research from the International Space Station. The next stop in the world of space travel is, as far as everyone is concerned, bringing people to the planet Mars. It is a big part of the SpaceX project and the possibility to take off again with a rocket after landing. Now the British astronaut Tim Peake has given his view on this (https://www.inverse.com/article/41892-spacex-elon-musk-mars-astronaut-time-peake). He thinks we will make a trip to Mars within twenty years. But at the same time it can also go a lot faster with the progress of private companies such as Elon Musk's SpaceX and more.

We're going to Mars
That we are going to Mars is, according to Peake, only logical. Currently, various government agencies, such as NASA, are working on this idea. But that does not go very fast. No, it is the private sector that can ensure that we can go to Mars faster than expected. For example, at SpaceX we see that new techniques are being developed and that they are less tied to the budgets that an organization receives from the government. And SpaceX is, of course, just one example. You also have Richard Branson with his Virgin Galactic and Jeff Bezos with his Blue Origin. The longer they occupy themselves with their projects, the greater the chance that organizations will ultimately work together and thus achieve this dream faster.

The only problem in this is that the various organizations have not yet cooperated and have not yet expressed the will to do so. Yet Peake expresses the hope that this will eventually happen, in order to speed up the total development in space travel. Perhaps if Nasa promises that Musk may take a Tesla to Mars, that helps.
