in #technology5 years ago

Capcom announced that the remake of Resident Evil 2 has exceeded 4 million units sold worldwide on all platforms in the first month of availability. According to data updated by the Japanese publisher, the saga has exceeded 90 million copies sold since its debut in 1996.

Launched on the market in '98, the original chapter of Resident Evil 2 totaled 4.96 million copies, ranking fourth in the all-time ranking of the franchise. For the realization of this remake Capcom has done a careful work of reworking the classic contents, particularly appreciated by both the public and the critics.

In addition to a brand new technical compartment, made possible with the support of the RE Engine already employed in Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Capcom has revived the terrifying adventure experienced by Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield in that of Raccoon City. The stories of Leon and Claire are told through two playable campaigns separately, allowing players to experience the story through the eyes of both characters.

It is therefore an experience completely different from the original one, adhering to the modern rules and with unpublished sequences of play, as well as new aspects of the story. If it took about four hours to complete the original Resident Evil 2, this remake requires at least fifteen.

Since last February 15th, The Ghost Survivors, DLC has been included , which includes some alternative episodes referring to various characters present in the main adventure. The players have the opportunity to play Robert Kendo, owner of the arms shop, the mayor's daughter, Katherine Warren, and the USS agent called Ghost.
