We as humans beings have the immense fortune of being able to constantly improve ourselves, at practically everything that we do. We improve our products, services become more sophisticated, we start to engage and participate in all sort of online activities, and to the simple eye, it might look as things are becoming easier for us, nevertheless, every individual has his own opinion and way of interpreting the world.

As our society becomes more and more global, it is natural to become part of broader communities and bigger projects, which comes with the responsibility of taking decisions based on the opinion of its growing number of members, and it is in this context that decisions can be difficult to handle.

But as it is always the case, it all depends on the perspective of the viewer. Usually to make something simpler, the “behind the scenes” tend to get more complicate.

For example, today, it is quite simple to arrange a product delivery across different continents, but behind this apparent simplicity, we have the complicate systems managing the activities of the all the distributions channels by air and sea, and those systems were surely not something simple to design. It required a lot of intellectual effort to make them work as efficiently as they work today.

Another example could be the ease with which we send messages over the internet to people all over the world, we simply open an app in our smartphones, and in 2 taps we are already writing the message, this is much simpler than the way we use to communicate in the past, that required a lot of time and effort to send a single letter to another part of the country. Today, sending messages is simpler, but at the same time, much more complex if we take into account the “behind the scenes” of what we are doing. Because making those apps that we use on a daily basis work as they do, is clearly much more complicate than sending a letter old style, the amount of code and development required is much greater, but to the simple eye, it is easier.

As our society grows, globalization keeps advancing, and our planet starts to get smaller and smaller (figuratively speaking), the way we interact and handle our common issues naturally start to get more complex.

It is normal that in every type of organization or entity, decisions need to be made on a constant basis so the organization in questions keeps functioning without stopping its activities. And it is this fact that might turn into a problem if the organization is not prepared to handle the challenges that come with modern times.

In the last few years, thanks to the emergence of blockchain technology, people realized there is a way to organize ourselves without having to rely on a central authority, which made the concept of decentralization start to increase in popularity since then, and this leaves us with a modern challenge consisting in how to take decisions under a decentralized context. So far this is something new for our society and people are just starting to approach this issue and look for solutions, as of now, we don’t have a system in which everyone can participate and take good and effective decisions without ignoring the opinion of the majority, because doing so, will required a huge amount of time and energy in order to register and process the opinions of everyone involved, turning the decision making process into something highly ineffective and unproductive, besides, dealing with participants that might be corrupted is another problem really hard to fix.

As of now, in our world there are some decisions that might not be the best representation regarding the will of the majority, that is because we have a flawed decision making systems that are corruptible and need to be fixed through the use of immutable registers like the ones allowed by blockchain technology, this is why it is fair to assume technology innovations eventually find a way to offer a solution to any problem we can imagine, and this time the solution is being offered in the form of DAOstack,

Every organization is obviously different and unique, each one of them have their own qualities, their own different challenges and they need a system that best suits them taking into account all of these peculiarities.

This could have a huge impact in places where corruption is something that happens on a daily basis, like political decisions and government policies. By using the platform DAOstack is offering, the typical corruption in this context would be mitigated and might even be totally eliminated, while also allowing for a faster decision making process without ignoring what is best for its participants.

DAOstack is capable of accomplish this because they managed to figure out a revolutionary way to power these decision making processes. What they did, is implementing 2 different factors in a totally innovative way. One of those factors simply consists in the amount of money the user in question has invested in the platform in the form of the GEN token, and the other factor is the reputation said user can earn by supporting good decisions and rejecting bad ones.

The first factor allows for the users to try and get attention for certain proposals that are expecting some kind of decision, and the second factor is the one taken into account when actually making those decisions. If users acts responsibly they can be rewarded with more GEN tokens and more reputation, which promotes the development of good judgment in the community members by automatically punishing corruption and rewarding honest and productive decisions, while only going through with issues the really deserve attention in order to decide what is best for them. Therefore, it can be said that DAOstack platform have some considerable advantages over the traditional methods we use regarding the process of making decisions, because it automatically is capable of eliminating corruption from its participants, and it is able to massively scale without taking a hit in its efficiency, and as mentioned before, this platform can be adopted by anyone even if the person doesn’t know how to code.

Since our world is constantly evolving and changing, I consider this platform as future-proof because it is designed to change with time thanks to its voting system explained above. This allows for its members to properly choose which changes should be applied, how and when, so the innovation in any organization can continue its due course and this will allow them to remain in a position where they can leverage any state-of-the-art technology there might be.

We as a society are handling issues on a daily basis that are much more complex and broader than the ones handled by past generations in past decades, and the solution to those issues are involving more people as well simply because of the proliferation of global communities of all sorts, that are adding new members constantly with no signs of slowing down for the time being.

These circumstances can complicate any decision making process in any type of organization, and it could come to a point in which the very existence itself of an organization might be threaten by not being efficient enough regarding its decision making process, at the end of the day, competition is getting stronger and maintaining a proper level of relevance in any industry is quite a challenge nowadays.
