The growing global energy demand has resulted in many industries are changing their production model, one of the industries that has generated more changes are the manufacturers of air conditioners mainly because they are the devices that consume more energy after washing machines and refrigerators. In the case of tropical countries that need to condition the air to keep their environments cool are those most affected by energy savings. However, in Bangladesh an interesting idea has arisen, a manufactured device that is able to acclimatize a warm place turning it into a cool place. This is ECO cooler. The first thing we have to take into account is the high temperatures that Bangladesh is subjected to in times of drought where it is about 45 degrees Celsius. It is so hot that some people die in that season. This made a group of engineers work to solve this problem, they developed a simple idea and recycled materials to make a device capable of changing the warm temperature to a cooler one.

ECO Cooler does not need electricity and its plans are on the official website of the manufacturer and is completely free. This is very useful for the majority of Bangladesh's poor.

The company that has developed this brilliant invention is called Grameen Intel Social Business and are inspired in solving technological problems, providing solutions within reach of any person or group of scarce resources.

The main challenge for this company was to find the right materials to make the device something economical, the idea priced simple but was a challenge for the group of engineers to develop the ECO cooler, in just 6 months managed to design and manufacture the air conditioning that is capable of lowering the temperature to just 5 degrees Celsius with just a panel of bottles in minutes.

To understand how this incredible device works we will make a small experiment, first blow air with our mouth open in our hand, notice how the air is perceived hot, however if we repeat the same operation but with the mouth between open you will notice how the air is perceived fresher. This method is known as pressure difference system and basically how the device works.

The manufacturing method includes recycled plastic bottles, which must be cut in two parts to be placed in a board system, the same board is installed in a window so that the air passes through the widest part of the bottle and enters the house through the neck of the bottle that will be inside the house. And so in just minutes you can cool a house in just minutes down to 5 degrees Celsius maximum.

This is undoubtedly one of the most innovative ideas I have seen, especially because it is ecological, it is free, and the company in charge is not interested in marketing the invention. This invention should be nominated as the invention of the year or even because it is not presented at the CES. So far at least 2,000 ECO coolers have been built in Bangladesh and are already being built in several Asian countries, especially in tropical areas where the heat is incredibly strong. This invention would be great in South American countries that also have hot tropics.
