There is so much content around us, it is becoming it's own language

in #technology7 years ago (edited)

Content are all around us. Webpages, E-books, tweets, Facebook posts, Steemit Blogs and so much more. Content has become so widely available that we can actually say it is part of our day to day language.

And in the middle of all the content out there is our smartphones. Sure a lot of us se Tablets as well, but you have your smartphone with you most of the time.

What do people want from content?

There is so much content available out there that nobody, can everybody just consumes a fraction of this?
According to a Wave study from UMMWW, people are looking for the following in the multitude of content.

The reputation economy

People are very attached and even emotional about the things that they share. Think about it, you do not want to share everything with everybody. To be honest, reputation and reward go hand in hand. I read a very interesting experiment in the same Wave report.

We instinctively know that having a good reputation makes us feel good. But the link between reputation and reward is more direct and powerful than you might think. In 2008 the National Institute for Physiological Sciences in Aichi, Japan, mapped neural responses in the brain to different rewards. One reward was financial - subjects played a card game and were rewarded with money for winning.
The second was reputational - subjects were shown a picture of their face with a positive or negative description underneath, supposedly written by their peers. When the subject’s brain was monitored it showed that the brain responded in exactly the same way to the financial reward as it did to positive reputation.

Reputation and reward goes hand in hand

Just like here on Steemit, we all have a decision what we are going to write in our next blog posts. We are all actually in control of our own content sharing strategies. I really enjoyed this report by UMMWW and will definitely share more about what I've learned in the report. It is really interesting to see how other people feel about the content they share.

wow your post is so informative specially to aspiring bloggers and content writers out there. i admire your content and i learn a lot.

If we shared all content exactly equally what we were interested in, it would point to incredible levels shallowness in nearly everyone- the innate assumption that everyone agrees with our views.
Fortunately, there are enough people who DON'T assume that to distort the agreement in the two traces in the second plot. (There would be a few who would make some moral or philosophical commitment to share only what truly interested them, I suppose, with intent to broadly educate.)

Also, guys would have long ago made sure that porn overwhelmed the entire Internet, not just most of it.

Upvoted and followed you.great information you have given.tnx for share.
