IJCH - Inside JaiChai's Head (Meaning: My Warped, Personal Opinions and Musings)

From the Author:

Salutations.

I am JaiChai.

And if I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you before, I'm delighted to make your acquaintance now.

Source

I invite you to interact with everyone, learn, and have as much fun as possible!

For my returning online friends, "It's always great to see you again!"

"Impressed at First Sight" - A Very Rare Event

Source

Call me a cynic - because I am.

When I was in the military, my closest friends used to call me "The Cynical Doc Yoda".

They knew I was an expert at my job and could be counted on whenever the shit hit the fan. But they also knew that I never sugar coated anything and always presented the facts as best and as fast as I could.

Conjecture and personal opinions were, if ever, debated later.

Source

After my military career, I did a very short stint in the corporate world.

Serving as an analyst for new projects, people were sent to me to present and defend their proposals.

All but a very few proposals survived my scrutiny.

Most were methodically dissected and then obliterated by an endless supply of personalized, hand-held logic bombs.

Source

Many times, the originators of those failed proposals left my office in tears.

In short order, I quickly gained the moniker as the corporate assasin, a twisted "Grim Reaper" that riddled new proposals with bullet holes and humiliated new execs faster than Jeb Bush can fry up puppies for breakfast!

Source

Since then, my social graces haven't changed much.

I still have an aspergers-like ineptness that's exacerbated by a ridiculously short attention span. Seriously, ADHD patients without their Adderall have longer attention spans than mine!

Confession:

I often fell asleep during quarterly conference calls, customer assistance Skypes, and online interviews.

Source

So, given this history, it's not surprising that, similar to new proposals in the past, I am rarely impressed with nascent technologies.

But today was different.

In fact, I was so impressed with these technologies that I literally choked on my food when I saw it.

See:

"(IJCH) Stupid me, I knew better. I choked on my sandwich while watching YouTube videos! (or How I wasted a perfectly good chicken sandwich!)

Rapid Lquid Printing (RLP)

Source

Imagine 3D printing that is fast, has no need for skeleton or scaffold support during a build, and where designs are not limited by the constraints of gravity!

That's MIT's Rapid Liquid Printing.

See this now:

"Rapid Liquid 3D-Printing Technology"

This video explains the significance of RLP technology:

"We Can Now 3D Print in Suspended Gravity (And It’s Mesmerizing!)"

And if that just blew your mind, let me introduce the next jaw-dropping technology...

CLIP

Source

Inspired by the "Terminator" movie, CLIP takes a whole new approach to fabricating and is poised to revolutionize the manufacturing industry as we know it!

Structures that could never be manufactured through any of today's methods are now possible with CLIP.

You got'ta see this to believe it!

"What if 3D printing was 100x faster? | Joseph DeSimone"

These technologies are amazing!

They will change the landscape of almost every profession and industry.

And there are countless, current - and yet to be imagined - use cases for RLP and CLIP technology.

I am curious to hear about your impressions...

About the Author

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.

In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.

After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.

Since then, he's been a full-time, single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency - plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).

He lives on an island paradise with his teenage daughter, longtime girlfriend and three dogs.
