RE: Uncensored Commenting System - Dissenter - Under Heavy DDOS Attack.

in #technology5 years ago

Wasn't Steemit DDoS aatacked today as well? I've heard that Infowars get these types of attacks as well at times. Now, with Steemit, shouldn't DDOS be harder to pull off when there are many decentralized servers to attack as opposed to just one, only one, central server? Is Gab centralized or decentralized? But Steemit was attacked? I think the Steem blockchain was not attacked, and just Steemit.com was. I was able to visit Busy.org and I think that was during that DDOS which could mean that DDOS didn't stop Steem, the blockchain, but it did stop Steemit.com, the website, the app, the extension, the platform, of Steem. That is good. I do hope people can figure out how to save Dissenter from DDOS.

Sort:

Steem — the blockchain — is decentralised.
SteemIt — the web interface — is not.

So when SteemIt is attacked you can just use busy.org instead.

I don't know about steemit, I haven't used it much today. DDOS tends to be targeted to specific domain names and the server than runs them gets slowed down. The Steem network is separate and would be much harder to DDOS.

That is why Gab should do what Steem does.
